j) Setting the centre of gravity

The correct position of the centre of gravity is crucial to achieve perfect flight
characteristics. The exact position can only be determined by test-flying the
model.
Install the battery in the model.
Support your model approx. 100 mm behind the leading edge. Your model
should now be balanced with the fuselage pointing slightly downwards. If
needed, you can move the installation position of the flight battery or attach
lead weights in order to set the correct centre of gravity.
Our tip:
To set the centre of gravity, special balances are available. However, you can
also easily construct a suitable frame with a few wood strips. Thin wood or
metal strips prevent the bottom of the wing from indentations.

k) Checking the rudder deflections

If correctly assembled and if the transmitter settings are made properly, the rudders should show the following deflection values (measured at the rear edge):
Aileron
8 - 12 mm upwards
Elevator
10 - 15 mm upwards
Side rudder
25 - 30 mm to the left
Please note:
The values stated are only initial settings in order to adjust the model to your personal control habits.
It is a proven method to reduce the rudder effect with a selectable dual rate function and to mix an appropriate share of exponential function to the
rudders.

l) Testing the motor

Caution!
Make sure that no loose parts, such as paper, film or other objects can be sucked in by the airscrew during the motor test. Also make sure that the
model is held securely during this test run and that no body parts are within the rotation range or danger area of the propeller.
First, switch on the transmitter and move the control stick for the motor function to the "motor off" position.
Now programme the speed controller according to the respective operating instructions.
Especially make sure that the rotational direction of the motor is correct (to reverse the rotational direction of a brushless motor, simply swap 2 of the 3 motor
cables).
