WIKA operating instructions models CS6S, CS6H, CS6L
Causes
Internal, non-volatile IC memory
(IC = integrated circuit) is defective
Error in writing the data (into
non-volatile IC memory) due to a
power failure or interruption in the
power supply
The PV has exceeded the upper limit
of the input range (scaling upper limit
for DC voltage, current inputs).
The PV has dropped below the lower
limit of the input range (scaling lower
limit for DC voltage, current inputs).
The PV has exceeded the display and
control range
Overheating of the thermocouple,
resistance thermometer (RTD) or
disconnection of the DC voltage
(DC 0 ... 1 V)
Measures
Remove the error code by pressing
the
button and execute the
deletion of the data

Check the input signal source and
cabling of the input terminals
Check the input signal source and
cabling of the input terminals
Check the sensor and, if necessary,
replace it
Check whether the sensor has
burned out:
Thermocouple
■
If the input terminals are short-
circuited and a value ±room
temperature is displayed,
the instrument is most-likely
operating normally, but the
sensor may have burned out.
Resistance thermometers (RTD)
■
When approx. 100 Ω resistance
is short-circuited on the input
terminals between A-B and
between B-B, and a value
±0 °C (32 °F) is displayed,
the instrument is most-likely
operating normally, but the
sensor may have burned out.
DC voltage (DC 0 ... 1 V)
■
If the input terminals are
short-circuited and the lower
limits of scaling are displayed,
the instrument is most-likely
operating normally, but the
signal cable may have become
detached.
