3.13.3 Explanations for the special parameters

Special parameter, torch potentiometer SP1

This special parameter is designed for use with a torch with potentiometer.
0 → Torch potentiometer is inactive, thus the potentiometer on the torch is not
evaluated
1 → Torch potentiometer is active, thus the set value of potentiometer on the
torch is evaluated
Special parameter Up/Down torch SP2

This special parameter is designed for use with an Up/Down torch.
0 → Up/Down torch is inactive, no Up/Down function available
1 → The Up/Down torch can be used to change the welding current I
When pulsing, the relationship I
2 → The Up/Down torch can be used to call up programs P1 and P2.
Pressing the rocker switches to P2 (Up) and P1 (Down).
3 → Control of the cold wire unit APUS 20 C
 Special parameter water cooling unit SP3
0 → Welding with a water-cooled torch is possible without the need for the
welding unit to recognise a water-cooling unit e.g. TIG-COOL CART
1400 or other water-cooler without a communication interface.
1 → Welding with a water-cooled torch is only permitted if the welding unit
recognises a functioning water-cooler e.g. TIG-COOL CART 2000.
Otherwise an error message occurs which prevents the torch from being
damaged should the water-cooling unit be missing.
 Special parameters AC curve shape SP4
Setting the AC curve shape in the "alternating current (AC)" polarity
0 → AC "Sine" curve shape
Noise-optimised
1 → AC "Triangle" curve shape
Better weld penetration for "Sine" curve shape
2 → AC "Rectangle" curve shape
Greatest possible arc stability and highest possible weld penetration.
