Before starting up
Power Pruner - Chain lubrication
The power pruner is not delivered filled with saw
chain adhering oil
Any use without chain saw oil may result in
damage of the saw chain and guide bar.
Avoid eye and skin contact. Wear protective
gloves!
The durability and cutting power of the chain depends on the
optimal lubrication. During operation the saw chain is
automatically wetted with oil.
Charging the oil tank
Put the power pruner on a suitable base
Unscrew the oil tank lock (18).
Fill the oil tank with bio-degradable chainsaw oil
(order no. 400144).
The fill level can be seen on the inspection window. For
easier filling use a funnel
When filling observe that no dirt reaches the oil
tank
Screw on the oil tank lock (18) again
Never use recycled oil or used oil. The guarantee
expires when using oil which is not allowed for such
devices.
Caution! Prior to starting the machine learn how to
put it out of action in emergency cases.
You may not start to operate the machine until you
have read these original instructions, observed all
the instructions given and installed the machine as
described!
Check the device before each use for
possible damages,
loose fastening elements
correctly assembled and faultless covers and protective
devices
Battery
The lithium ion batteries AP 40-4000 (Article No.
365503) or AP 40-2000 (Article No. 365501) as well
as the charger ALG 40-1800 (Article No. 365500) are
not included in the scope of delivery and must be
purchased separately.
Use only an original battery and the original
charger.
Refer to the respective "Operating instructions" for further
information on the batteries and the charger.
Start up
Insert the battery
Insert the battery (28/29) in the device.
Make sure to slide the battery fully in until it
engages with a click.
Switching on / off
Make sure before each startup that the switch lock, the
On/Off switch and the chain and motor brake are working
properly
Do not use any device where the switch cannot be
switched on and off. Damaged switches must be repaired
or replaced immediately by the customer service.
Switching on
Make sure the cutting tool does not lie on the ground
when switching the device on.

Remove the transport guard (8/14/22).

Securely support the device when switching it on and
hold it with both hands. The cutting tools must stand free.
The device is equipped with a safety circuitry
preventing inadvertent switching on.
Press the switch lock (32) and then the ON/OFF switch
(33). You can let go of the switch lock (32) during the
cutting process.
The stronger the On/Off switch is pressed the faster
the chain saw will run.
To protect the battery the machine automatically
switches off at a low battery.
Never continue operating the ON / OFF switch; this may
damage the battery.
Charge the lithium ion battery (
instructions).

Release On/Off switch (33).
Speed
The device can be operated at 2 speeds.
Setting the speed
Push the switch (34) in position:
The device runs slow
The device runs fast
The battery charge will not last as long.
