Connection to measuring amplifier without permanently connected
amplifier module
The U9C is a force transducer that outputs a mV/V signal based on strain gages. An
amplifier is needed to condition the signal. All DC amplifiers and carrier-frequency ampli
fiers designed for SG measurement systems can be used.
Force transducers are executed in a four-wire circuit.

General information and connection
Fig. 8.1
Pin assignment and color code
The output signal is positive with this pin assignment and load in the pressure direction. If
you need a negative output signal in the pressure direction, interchange the red and white
wires.
The connection cable shield is connected to the transducer housing. If you are not using
pre-wired HBK cables, please connect the cable shield to the cable socket housing. Use
CE standard connectors on the free ends of the cable to be connected to the amplifier
system; the shield must be connected extensively. With other connection techniques, a
good EMC shield must be provided in the stranded area, where the shielding must also be
extensively connected.
8.1.2
Cable extension and cable shortening
Various connection cable lengths are available for the U9C so that cable extensions and
cable shortening are generally not necessary.
As the transducer has a four-wire configuration, the cable is also used to compensate the
temperature dependence of the sensitivity. We therefore do not recommend shortening
