The module is not suitable to be operated on other sensors. It is not possible to separate
the amplifier from the sensor and complete reliable measurements with other force
transducers.
8.3.3

Starting up

Connect the amplifier to an IO-Link master using a cable that is suitable for IO-Link
communication. If the requirements for measurement accuracy are very high, we
recommend running the measurement chain for 30 minutes.
The measurement chain starts now and is then ready for operation. The master sends a
wake-up signal to the sensor for this purpose.
If the corresponding connection of the IO-Link master is configured for the IO-Link
operating mode, the master reads the basic device parameters from the measurement
chain. These parameters are designed to automatically establish the communication and
identify the measurement chain. In this state, the sensor transfers the process data
(measurement data in Newton and status of the limit value switch) and master cyclically
and automatically.
Please observe the instructions of the IO-Link master and the instructions for the
software you are using.
The device description file (IODD) of the measurement chain enables your application to
display the measurement data and parameters, and to configure the measurement chain
based on your requirements (limit value switch, filter, etc.). If your application does not
automatically download the IODD from the Internet, then you can download it from the
official IO-Link page https://ioddfinder.io-link.com. To do so, enter the K-U9C/nominal
(rated) force, i.e. K-U9C/50kN, and the name of the manufacturer, i.e. Hottinger Brüel &
Kjaer GmbH, in the search field and then load the IODD into your application.
Alternatively, you can also use the table of variables (object dictionary) from these
instructions to program and set up your downstream electronics.
8.3.4

Data structure

The data between the electronics and IO-Link master are transferred in the IO-Link
M-sequence format TYPE_2_V.
