The data is transferred to the PLC via an IO-LINK master – in accordance with the
standard IEC 61131-9 (IO-Link). The electric connection is also defined in this standard.
8.3.2

Electrical connection and assembly of the inline amplifier module

The inline amplifier has two holes that can be used to mount the module (see drawing in
"Dimensions" section). As the housing of the amplifier module and housing of the force
transducer are connected electrically via the cable shield, this creates a Faraday cage for
all of the components. The measurement chain thus offers a high level of operational
safety, even in the event of unfavorable EMC conditions. The HBK measurement chain is
tested in accordance with EN 61326.
Important
Please ensure that the inline amplifier and force transducer are on the same electric
potential to prevent any compensating current via the cable shield.
The module has a short-circuit proof design but is not protected against overvoltages.
An IO-Link master is connected to the M12 plug. The plug assignment is in accordance
with the specifications of the standard ([IO-Link] 5.5.1 Connectors), class A and is as
follows:

Information
HBK uses M12 class A connections as per the IO-Link standard
Notice
The amplifier module and sensor are permanently connected. The cable, sensor, and
amplifier are connected to one another, and must not be disconnected. If the sensor
connection cable is damaged, please send your measurement chain for repair to HBK.
