Inline amplifier module VAIO

If you have ordered your U9C with a connected inline amplifier "VAIO", you will receive
your sensor and electronics in a permanently connected unit. In this version, a digital data
output signal is ready. The sensors have an IO-Link interface with a COM3 data output
rate. The data structure equates to the IO-Link profile smart sensors 2nd edition,
specification, version 1.1, September 2021
The module can be used as a measuring sensor and a programmable actuator (via digital
switching outputs).
8.3.1

Function

The analog signals of the force transducer are initially digitized, so that they can then be
converted into measured values in Newton as per the factory settings. Regardless of the
connected master, the sample rate during this process is always 40 kHz, so that even
very fast processes can be recorded securely and evaluated in the subsequent
electronics (e.g., peak force during a compression process). It is possible to store the
result of a calibration in the sensor to increase the level of accuracy. During another
scaling step, you can enter any unit and a conversion factor so that it is possible to
determine other physical quantities (e.g., torque while using a lever arm or measure­
ments using units other than the ones of the SI system, e.g. lbf).

The amplifier module has other functions, such as a digital low pass filter, peak-value
memory (trailing pointer function), or limit value switch based on the smart sensor
profile. Please observe the following notes.
The electronics permanently monitor the output signal so that you will be warned if any
critical operating states are set.
