Operation During Communication

You can operate the Monitoring Codec using the
LOCAL menu or the REMOTE menu.
Common Items in the Local and
Remote Menus
To operate the local site, select a LOCAL menu item.
To operate a remote site, select a REMOTE menu
item.
ALARM
You can check alarm signals and log files in list view.
To check the alarm signal list
The following describes how to check the ALARM IN
port status.

To check the local site's alarm signal to the
ALARM IN port, select LOCAL ALARM from
the main menu.
To check the remote site's alarm signal to the
ALARM IN port, select REMOTE ALARM from
the main menu.
The following screen appears. (The illustration
below is for selecting LOCAL ALARM.)

Move the cursor to CHECK ALARM using V or v.

Move the cursor to <START> using B or b, then
press ENTER.
The system starts to check the ALARM IN port.
If an alarm has been generated, the alarm signal list
is displayed.

To check the ALARM IN port log file list
You can check the log file list on the ALARM IN port.
Up to 128 log data items are stored in the list. If the list
is full, the oldest log is deleted when a new one is
entered.

To check the local site's log file list on the
ALARM IN port, select LOCAL ALARM from
the main menu.
To check the remote site's log file list on the
ALARM IN port, select REMOTE ALARM from
the main menu.

Move the cursor to READ ALARM LOG using V
or v.

Move the cursor to <START> using B or b, then
press ENTER.
The system starts reading the log and then displays
the log data list.
To check communications data
You can check the communication log.
Up to 128 communication logs are stored. If the list is
full, the oldest data item is deleted when a new one is
entered.
