operating in Local Area Service mode.

Exiting Local Area Service
When the link with the central network controller is re-
established, the MTM800 exits Local Area Service and the
following occurs:
• the MTM800 sounds a tone.
• any call in progress during Local Area Service is dropped.
Dimming the Display
If the backlight is set to Manual (see "Setting Backlight" on
page 86), there are four levels of display backlight intensity.
