RIDING YOU R MOTORCYCLE
P reli m i n ary checks
Check:
•
that there is sufficient fuel in the tank;
•
that the engine oil is on the right level;
•
the ignition key is i n position «A» (see fig . 3) ;
•
that the following warning lights are on :
warning lights: oil pressure and generator;
- red
- green warning light: « N EUTRAL» indicator;
•
that the « CHOKE » control lever is in the starting
position (if the engine is cold) (<<1 », fig. 4) .
Cold starti ng
After the above checks, turn the throttle twist grip
(toward the rider) by 25% of full travel , disengage the
clutch �nd press the « START» button ( <<C» in fig. 5).
Once the
engine has started, and before returning the
.
choke to Its normal position (<<2» i n fig. 4) ,
engine to idle for a few seconds in summer or a few
minutes in winter.
If the « starter» choke is left in the start-up position
(<< 1 » in fig. 4) carburation problems ensue, with a
considerable increase in fuel consumption, and in

Controler que:

Ie reservoir contiennent suffisamment d'essence ·
•
I'huile du carter moteur arrive au bon niveau ·
•
la cle de contact soit sur la pOSition « A» (voir
3) ;
•
les voyants suivants soient allumes :
- rouge : pression d'huile insuffisante, tension
generateur insuffisante;
- vert: indicateur changement de vitesse au point
mort « N EUTRAL» ;
•
Ie starter « CHOKE» pour la demarrage a. moteur
froid soit sur la position « < 1 » en fig . 4) .
Oemarrage
Aprils avoir effectue ces controles, tourner la poignee
des gaz vers Ie pilote ( 1 /4 de I'ouverture), tirer
levier d'embrayage et appuyer sur Ie bouton de demar
rage du moteur « C» (start) de fig . 5.

Quand Ie moteur est en marche,
quelques secondes
chaude et quelques minutes pendant la saison froide
avant Ie remettre I e starter sur la position de marche
(<<2» fig. 4) .
