gradually while opening the throttle.
The gear change pedal should be operated firmly and
surely.
When changing down use the brakes gradually and
close the throttle g radually to avoid over-reving the
engine.
Stopping
Close the throttle and use the brakes ; just a s the vehicle
is about to stop disengage the clutch. These three
operations should be carefully coordinated to maintain
ful l control of the vehicle.
When slowing down in normal conditions, use the
gearbox to provide engine braking to slow the vehicle;
take care not to over-rev the engine. Use the brakes
(especially the right front brake) with particular care
when roads are slippery or wet.
To stop the engine, turn the ignition switch until position
0
(see fig. 3) .

Do not forget to turn off the fuel taps.
Parki ng
When parking at night in poorly lit roads, leave the
parking light on . To do this, turn the ignition key until

then remove the key and lock the steering (see «Steer­
ing Lock» and fig. 1 1 ) .

Arret
Couper Ie gaz, freiner et ne doorayer qu'au moment ou
la moto est presque arretee. Cette manouvre doit litre
bien coordonnee pour ne pas perdre Ie controle du
vehicule.
Pour ralentir progressivement en retrogradant pour
utiliser Ie frein moteur, veiller
moteur en surregime. Sur routes mouillees et glis­
santes, utiliser les freins avec precaution, et particuli­
e rement Ie frein avant droit.
Pour eteindre Ie moteur, mettre la cle de contact sur la
position (voir fig. 3).
Lorsque Ie moteur est etient, ne jamais oublier de
fermer Ie robinet d'essence.
Stationnement
En cas de stationnement de nuit dans des endroits peu
eclaires, laissez les feux de position allumes en pla�ant
