Remove the rubber plug from the inspection hole on
the right side of the transmission housing, over the
flywheel.

It is best to use a timing light to find the precise
moment when points (<<A., and
open , connect the light across the supply terminal of
the contact breaker being checked and ground.
Timing the right cyli nder (fig. 32)
•
Rotate the flywheel in the direction of engine rota
tion (counterclockwise) until the piston is at the end of
its compression stroke (valves closed). In this position,
mark ,, 0., stamped on the flywheel (T. O.C. of the right
cylinder) should coincide with mark

trole situe sur Ie cote droit de la boite de vitesse au
niveau du volant moteur;

Pour controler Ie debut de I'ouverture des contacts
des rupteurs (
A., et « B ., de fig. 31 ) il est conseille

d'utiliser I'appreil special lumineux en Ie pla<;ant entre
la borne d'alimentation du rupteur et la masse.

Tourner Ie volant dans Ie sens de rotation
moteur (contraire aux aiguilles d'une montre) jusqu'a
ce que Ie piston se trouve en fin de phase de compres
