All closures are open.
>
The patient sits on the front edge of a chair.
1) Remove the shoe.
2) Flex the orthosis joint by manually applying a load to the forefoot.
3) Insert the foot into the foot component and position the heel and lower leg in the shell.
4) Slightly extend the foot and apply the thigh shell of the orthosis to the thigh from below.
5) Fasten the top closure.
→ This serves to keep the orthosis in place temporarily.
6) Fasten the closure below the knee.
7) Fasten the ankle closure if applicable.
8) Fasten the closure above the knee.
9) Retighten the top closure.
10) Put on the shoe.
INFORMATION: Ensure that the shoe is open wide enough to slip in with the orthosis.
11) Stand up and retighten all closures.
12) Verify the correct fit of the orthosis.
13) After approx. 15 minutes of active movement, slightly retighten all straps.

8.2 Removing the Orthosis

INFORMATION
If a mode with a high setting for the parameters 'Base Resistance' and/or 'Resistance Gain' such as "Extended
Stance" is configured as 2nd mode, switching to 1st mode must be performed before sitting down. Otherwise it
is not possible to bend the knee joint.
Inform the patient of the correct process to remove the orthosis.
1) Sit on a chair.
2) Remove the shoe.
3) Open the upper closures.
4) Open the closure below the knee.
5) Open the closure below the ankle if applicable.
6) Pull the thigh shell down and off.
7) Step out of the orthosis.
8) Set the orthosis upright and fasten the closures.
9) Store the orthosis upright and charge it if necessary.

8.2.1 Storage and Bleeding Air

Air may accumulate in the hydraulic unit if the orthosis is stored for longer periods and not in an upright position.
This is noticeable through sounds and irregular damping behaviour.
The automatic ventilation mechanism ensures that all functions of the orthosis are again fully available after approx
imately 10 - 20 steps.
Replacement is not required in this case.

8.3 Movement Patterns

CAUTION
Improper mode switching
In certain situations, this can lead to falling caused by:
► Unintentional mode selection resulting in altered damping behaviour of the orthosis (e.g. under flexion load in
cycling mode).
→ The patient must stand securely during all switching processes.
→ Verify the desired functionality after switching (observe acoustic feedback signals).
→ Switch back to 1st mode when the activities in 2nd mode are concluded.
→ Take weight off the orthosis and correct switching if required.
