INFORMATION
Calibration is required for all orthotic systems compatible with C-Soft.
Once the connection has been established, the Calibration tab is displayed automatically.
Once calibration is complete, the following symbols are displayed:
Symbol
Effect

Zero setting OK
All functions of the programme can
be used.
Knee angle
Zero setting not OK
The knee angle has not reached its
zero value.
Toe and heel load
Zero setting not OK
The spring element could not be cal­
ibrated.
In case of errors (zero setting not OK), correct the cause of the error and calibrate again.

Calibration is required each time a connection has been established.

7.6.4 Setup Process on the Orthosis

The programme does not make any automatic changes to the settings! Each change must be made or confirmed
by the CPO!
C-Soft describes the procedure for each adjustment step in the adjustment section.
► After successful calibration, click the Adjustments tab.
→ The orthosis adjustments are displayed.

7.6.5 Overview of Adjustment Parameters

The C-Soft adjustment parameters are described in more detail in the following chapter. In this overview, the
sequence of the parameters is based on the movement pattern or the gait phases when walking on level ground
that are relevant for the parameters.
The sequence in the description therefore deviates from the listing in the C-Soft adjustment software. The denota­
tion of the parameters also differentiates between the stance phase (STP = Stance Phase) and the swing phase
(SWP = Swing Phase).
C-Brace
1) The patient must stand between parallel bars or with crutches.
2) Extend the leg with the orthosis to the back with no load.
3) Click the Calibrate button.
→ The orthosis is calibrated.
Cause
Incorrect positioning of the patient or mechanical
blockage, e.g. due to pinched fabric...
The zero setting cannot be achieved in case of
extreme flexion contracture (see contraindications).
The patient cannot use the orthosis.
The spring element is not properly connected or
the contacts are defective.
Connecting cable to the plug of the spring ele­
ment is damaged or defective.
Weight was put on the foot with the orthosis.
The screw connection between the foot compon­
ent/thigh component and the spring element is not
correct.
High footwear may be laced too tight in the ankle
region, putting a load on the spring element.
