7 Adjustment with Ottobock C-Soft

7.1 Introduction

The Ottobock C-Soft programme offers Prosthetists / Orthotists the possibility to optimally adjust the orthosis for a
patient. It guides the user step by step through the adjustment procedure and assists with images and text. After
the adjustment, the user can save the settings and make a print-out for documentation purposes. If needed, these
values can be loaded and fed into the orthotic system.

7.2 Intended Use

The purpose of the 4X180=V2.6 Ottobock C-Soft adjustment software is to:
• Configure the parameters of the orthotic system C-Brace 17B300=L / C-Brace 17B300=R
• Configure the parameters of electronic knee joint systems with the article numbers: 3C95/3C85, 3C96/3C86,
3C96-1/3C86-1, 3C98/3C88, 3C98-1/3C88-1, 3C98-2/3C88-2.

7.3 Installation

For the installation/removal of C-Soft, please read the 647G268 Instructions for Use.

7.3.1 Update to Version 2.6

INFORMATION
The software version V2.6 required for the orthosis fitting is also as an update for C-Soft 2.0, 2.2, 2.4 available
from the Ottobock download page. If no C-Soft (4X180=*) is available or a version older than C-Soft V2.0 the
software package 4X180=V2.6 must be purchased.
1) In the Ottobock Data Station programme, click > Help > Ottobock Support Website.
→ The website Ottobock – Data Station opens.
2) Under Patch, search for C-Soft.
3) In the column Version, search for Update 2.6 (32-Bit) or Update 2.6 (64-Bit) (depending on your operating
system).
4) In the right-hand column, click Download.
5) Save the file setup32_C-Soft_2.6_update.zip or setup64_C-Soft_2.6_update.zip (depending on your oper­
ating system) to C:\temp.
6) Unpack the ZIP file.
7) Run the unpacked programme setup32.exe or setup64.exe (depending on your operating system).
8) Select the installation language and click OK.
9) Follow the on-screen instructions of the installation wizard.

7.4 Data Transfer between the Orthosis and the PC

Adjustments to the orthosis using the C-Soft software can only be made by means of Bluetooth® data transfer. In
order to do so, a Bluetooth® wireless connection must be established between the orthosis and the PC with the
help of the 60X5 BionicLink PC. To install the 60X5 BionicLink PC for the first time, follow the procedure
described in the 647G506 Instructions for Use.
INFORMATION
Do not disconnect the 60X5 BionicLink PC from the PC while there is an active Bluetooth connection.
