15. Care and maintenance

Clean the exterior of the model and the remote control only with a soft, dry cloth or brush. Never use aggressive
cleansing agents or chemical solutions, because they might damage the surface of the housing.
• Check the mechanical parts of the model throughout at
regular intervals. All screwed connections should be tight
and should not loosen up due to vibrations of the
helicopter. Make sure that the grub screws in the top
set collar (1) have a tight fit.
• All moving parts have to be easily movable but there
should not be a clearance in the bearing.
• Apply some drops of high-quality machine oil in the
range of the swash plate and the sliding sleeve onto
the rotor shafts (see ill. 5) at regular intervals.
• Check the belt tension at regular intervals. It must be
possible to push the belt inwards approx. 2 mm (see
illustration) with a screwdriver (2) without applying a lot
of force. The belt must also be intact and no teeth may
be missing.
• If the belt tension is not right, loosen the three screws
(3) above the tail pipe support. Afterwards you can set
the belt tension correctly by shifting the tail pipe and
then screw the pipe on tight again.
