c) Charging Rechargeable Batteries in the Transmitter
When using the remote transmitter with accumulators, you can attach a charging cable to the charging jack (see pos.
5 in fig. 2) while the transmitter is switched off to charge the accumulators with a suitable charger (not part of the
delivery) directly in the transmitter.
When connecting a charge cable, observe the correct polarity of the connecting plug. The inner contact of the charge
socket has to be connected to the plus connection (+) and the outside contact to the minus connection (-) of the
charger.
The charging current should be approx. 1/10 of the capacity value of the inserted rechargeable batteries. For
rechargeable batteries with a capacity of 2000 mAh, the charging current will be approximately 200 mA and the
charging time about 14 h. To prevent damage to the internal circuitry and connections, do not use a fast battery
recharger.
Connect the charger only if the rechargeable batteries (1.2V/cell) have been inserted in the transmitter.
Never try to recharge batteries (1.5V/cells) with the charger. There is a risk of fire and explosion!
When the rechargeable batteries have been recharged or new batteries have been inserted, pull out the antenna of
the transmitter all the way and, turn on the transmitter with the function switch (see figure 1, pos. 8) for test purposes.
The LED bar display (see figure 1, pos. 2) indicates the power supply of the transmitter.
In addition, the function display blinks in the most varied colours (see fig. 1, pos. 15) before it turns pink.
If the function display is not permanently lit after activation and the LED bar display blinks, the switch for
aerobic/inverted flight (see fig. 1, pos. 4) is in the wrong position and must be switched to the front/top
position (N).
If the power supply is not sufficient any more for faultless operation, the two green LED segments go off. In this case,
you should stop operating your model as quickly as possible. In case of a voltage below 7.5 V, the two yellow LED
segments also go off, so that only the red LED segments are still on. For further operation of the transmitter the
rechargeable batteries have to be recharged or new batteries have to be inserted.
In order to avoid the memory effect of NiCd rechargeable batteries, you should connect the charger only when the
rechargeable batteries are completely discharged.
