d) The First Landing

You should always start and land against the wind. Reduce the motor speed and fly big and flat circles. Do not pull too hard on the elevator to reduce the flying
altitude slowly.
Select the last curve before the approach for a landing so that in case of an emergency you would have sufficient room for landing and so that you would not have
to make considerable corrections to the course during the approach for a landing. When the model is flying along the planned landing line, reduce the motor
speed further and keep the model in a horizontal position using the elevator. The model should continue to descend and fly towards the planned touch down
point at the end of the imaginary landing line.
In this critical flying phase, ensure sufficient flying speed (see chapter "First Start - Stalling Behaviour") and do not slow down the model by reducing the motor
speed too much or by pulling on the elevator too hard.
It is only shortly before the touch-down that you should stop the motor and land the model with fully drawn elevator.

13. Crystal Change

In order to avoid a double channel assignment, it may be necessary to change the crystals on your remote control system.
For reasons of operational safety, you should only use crystals that are explicitly recommended for use in your remote control system by the
supplier.
To change the crystal, proceed as follows:
• With the transmitter switched off, pull the transmitter crystal holder from the back of the transmitter casing (see fig. 3, pos. 8).
• Take the transmitter crystal out of its plastic holder. Insert the replacement crystal with a different channel in the same frequency band. Please ensure that you
place the correct crystal in the holder. Transmitter crystals are normally marked with the letters T or TX (T = transmitter or sender). Put the crystal holder back
into the transmitter.
• With the flight battery disconnected, pull the receiver from its holder in the model and remove the receiver crystal.
• The suitable crystal for the receiver has to be marked with the same channel number as the transmitter crystal. In addition, it has the letter code R or RX (R =
receiver) on it.
• Insert the replacement crystal with the suitable frequency for the transmitter into the receiver.
• Afterwards, switch on first the transmitter and then the receiver and check the function and the range of the system.

14. Maintenance and Care

Regularly check the rudder linkages and the control functions of the servos on your model. All moving parts must move easily but must not have any play in their
bearings. If any foam parts of the model must be glued on again after a hard landing, use either 5 min. epoxy resin or a superglue that is suitable for hard foam.
Never use adhesives that contain solvents. They may damage the airplane material.
Clean the exterior of the model and the remote control only with a soft, dry cloth or brush. Never use aggressive cleansing agents or chemical solvents, since this
might damage the surfaces.
