14. Maintenance and care

a) Replacing the Propeller
The spinner cap (1) is only plugged onto the propeller shaft and can
easily be taken off by gently pulling it.
The propeller (2) itself is attached with a nut which can be loosened
using the provided open-end wrench (3).
After loosening the nut and removing the washer (4), the propeller can
be taken off.
Pay attention to the shape of the air screw when attaching the replacement
propeller. The smoothly curved edges (5) must be at the front with regard
to the rotational direction of the propeller.
After screwing the propeller tight, you can put back the spinner cap.

b) Checking the brushless motor

After taking off the propeller and removing the three retaining screws
from the cowling, the cowling can be pulled off towards the front.
Check the condition and the bearing of the brushless motor (1). Watch
out for signs of wear and make sure the motor attachment screws are
tightened properly (2). Pay particular attention to the grub screws (3)
opposite the motor holder.
c) General Maintenance
Check the rudder linkages and the control functions of the servos on your model regularly. All moving parts have to be easily movable, but should not have any
play in their bearings. If foam parts of the model must be re-glued after a hard landing, either use 5-minute epoxy resin or a styrofoam® superglue. Avoid
adhesives containing solvents.
Clean the exterior of the model and the remote control with a soft, dry cloth or brush only. Never use aggressive cleaning agents or chemical solutions as these
may damage the surfaces.
