9. Setting Up the Transmitter

In the operating instructions, the numbers in the text always refer to the figure opposite or the figures within
the section. Cross-references to other figures will be indicated by the corresponding figure number.

a) Inserting the Batteries/Rechargeable Batteries

The transmitter is supplied with power by 8 AA alkaline batteries (e.g. Conrad order no.: 652507, pack of 4, order 2) or
rechargeable batteries.
For ecological and economical reasons it is recommended to use rechargeable batteries, since they can be recharged
in the transmitter through the built-in charging socket.
Proceed as follows to insert the batteries:
The battery compartment lid (1) is located on the back of
the transmitter.
Push down the corrugated area (2) and push off the lid down-
wards.
Now insert 8 batteries or rechargeable batteries into the
battery compartment. Observe the correct polarity of the in-
dividual cells. The polarity is indicated (3) at the bottom of
the battery compartment.
Then slide the lid of the battery compartment back on from
the bottom until the locking mechanism engages.
b) Charging Rechargeable Batteries in the Transmitter
When using the remote transmitter with batteries, you can attach a charging cable to the charging jack (figure 1, item
4) while the transmitter is switched off to charge the batteries with a suitable charger (not part of the delivery) directly
in the transmitter.
Attention!
The provided mains adapter only serves to supply the LiPo charger with power and is not suited to charge
the transmitter batteries.
When connecting a charge cable, imperatively observe the correct polarity of the connecting plug. The inner contact of
the charging socket has to be connected with the plus connection (+) and the outer contact with the minus connection
(-) of the charger.
The charging current should be approx. 1/10 of the capacity value of the inserted rechargeable batteries. For re-
chargeable batteries with a capacity of 2000 mAh, the charging current will be approximately 200 mA and the charging
time about 14 h. To prevent damage to the internal circuitry and connections, do not use a fast battery charger.
Connect the charger only if the rechargeable batteries (1.2V/cell) have been inserted in the transmitter.
Never try to recharge normal batteries (1.5V/cell) with a charger. There is a risk of fire and explosion!
