The ZED track crankset is the first monobloc
carbon track crankset. The crank arms and the
chainring support spider are integrated with the
crankshaft to provide unmatched rigidity to date.
Made entirely of carbon fiber, it is both
lightweight and extremely stiff. The ZED track
is the result of many years of research and
development
and
incorporates
numerous
patented technologies by LOOK, including the
variable crank arm length adjustment via the
trilobe technology. With a single crankset size,
you can choose to ride with a crank arm length
of 165 – 167.5 – 170mm (size 1) or 172.5 – 175
– 177.5mm (size 2) simply by rotating the pedal
fixing nut by a third of a turn. This change is
quick and requires no special tools.
The monobloc technology connects the crank
arms and the axle to a solid spider supporting
the chainring. This continuity between the
chainring and spider is perfect and improves
the aerodynamic performance of the entire
system.
The chainline of this crankset is 43mm.
INSTALLATION OF THE ZED CRANKSET INTO THE FRAME
Since the ZED track crankset is a monobloc
design, its installation requires passing the
left crank arm through the frame. The right
pedal can be mounted on the crankset before
installing it on the frame, unlike the left pedal,
which must be installed once the ZED track
crankset is correctly fixed into the frame.
The installation process does not require any
specific tools, but it is recommended to consult
your authorized Look dealer for crankset
installation or removal.
Before inserting the crankset into the frame,
check that the left bearing is properly installed
and tightened into the frame on the left side,
and ensure that no parts are missing from the
pre-assembled crankset.
The chainrings do not interfere with the
crankset's engagement mechanism into the
frame. The crankset can be installed on the
frame with or without its chainrings.
WARNING: : - Dust, clean, and grease the
!
bearing seats of the bottom bracket with the
recommended grease.
-Never wash your bike with a pressure washer.
Pressurized water, even from a garden hose, can,
despite the seals, enter the bottom bracket and
irreparably damage the components and bearings
of the ZED track crankset. Wash your crankset
while it is mounted on your bike, and gently clean
the carbon parts with a soft cloth, water, and mild
soap.
-Do not leave the ZED track crankset inside a car
parked under the sun, nor near a radiator or other
heat sources.
1-
Insert the crankset into the frame through the
left crank arm.
