Consumables / Extruder Operations
8.
Removing the Extruder
1. Set the main switch on the electrical cabinet at the back of the machine to OFF.
2. Remove the three electrical connectors (k) from the back of the extruder: turn
the inner ring clockwise to loosen the connectors from the extruder. It is easier
to start at top and then work your way down.
3. Loosen both extruder attachment screws (c) by turning them counterclock-
wise. Firmly hold the extruder in your hand while doing so.
4. Pull the extruder off the guide rail.
Mounting the Extruder
1. Slide the extruder onto the X-stage mount horizontally to ensure that the pins
line up with the extruder slot. (See Fig. 8-5)
2. Tighten the attachment screws(c) by hand to secure the ex-
truder.
3. Connect the electrical connectors to the back of the extrud-
er. Use the color code to identify the position of each con-
nector. It is easier if you start with the bottom connector and
work your way up.
The orientation of the connector is marked by an arrow.
Locate the connector so the arrows of both sides of the plug
match (see Fig. 8-6)
4. Secure the connectors by turning the inner ring counter-
clockwise. Keep the connector parallel to the plug while do-
ing so.
