Safety Door
If the Z-axis is higher than 2 m m, the maximum speed of moving parts will be re-
duced to 10 mm/s when the door is opened and the machine will be stopped when
the current command is completed.
If the Z-axis is less than 2 mm, the maximum speed of moving parts will be reduced
to 10 mm/s when the door is opened. The axes are stopped after reaching the 2 mm
limit. This allows control of the first printed layer. It is not possible to start printing
with the door open.
2.5. Operating Environment
The BigRep STUDIO can't be used at heights above 2000 meters above sea level.
The operator must ensure that the machine stands on a floor that can safely sup-
port the weight of the machine. When placing the machine in the factory, the oper-
ator needs to ensure that a electrical power supply input is nearby.
Once printing has started, the machine may not be made accessible to any unau-
thorized persons. The printer may only be used in a restricted access area to which
children have no access.
To ensure optimal operating condition and best results, the operator should:
› keep the temperature in the operating environment between +15 °C and +28 °C /
+59° F and +82° F.
› avoid direct exposure of the printer to sunlight.
› do not operate the device on surfaces particularly sensitive to vibrations.
› avoid indoor air pollution with dust (e.g. sanding dust).
› make sure the ground is leveled and has sufficient load-bearing capacity.
› make sure that there is a clearance of at least 1 m / 3 ft to all sides of to the
device (measured from the main outer frame of the printer with closed doors).
› make sure there is enough free space between the machine and the ceiling
(at least 1 m / 3 ft to the device).
› make sure the machine is placed in a well ventilated area.
› provide a working network-connection (LAN-cable).
› ensure low humidity (40-60 %, non condensing).
› ensure appropriate lightning.
