4. If you would like to unload the filament from T0 and T1, wait for the first un-
loading procedure to be finished before starting the second one.
5. Pull out the old filament spool from the filament spool holder. If the spool still
contains filament, wrap it up and secure the loose end to avoid entanglements.
6. Place the new filament spool in the filament spool holder ((F) in Fig. 8-1). Use
the left spool holder for T0, the right spool holder for T1. Make sure to place the
spool in the holder as shown in Fig. 8-1 and to check that the filament string
can easily unspool.
7. You can adjust the roller in the filament holder according to the spool diameter
to ensure secure unspooling.
8. Feed the loose end of the filament through the respective filament guiding
tube (A) into the printer and towards the extruder. (Fig. 8-1)
9. Push the lever ((h) for T0 / (a) for T1 Fig. 8.4) and feed the filament through the
filament guide into the extruder. Slowly continue pushing the string into the
extruder until you see extrudate coming through the nozzle.
10. Extrude additional 50-100 mm of filament from the Control Menu to ensure
that the old filament is completely extruded.
Select Resume in the UI to resume printing or start a new print. & Chap. 7
Filament Change After Out Of Filament Notification
The Out Of Filament notification appears on the display when the extruder detec-
tion registers no more filament and automatically pauses the print.
The extruder will be moved automatically into a position that allows easy filament
replacement. This position can be set on the Advanced Menu in the UI.
IMPORTANT: Do not trigger the end stops as the print will then be aborted!
The extruder can be moved manually via BigRep UI after pausing. Only move on
the X-Y axis!
Note: For safety reasons the extruder will be automatically cooled down after 15
minutes. To change the filament after extruder has cooled down you have to turn
on the heater again. This time can be defined on the Advanced Menu if the BigRep
