Automated welding-torch cleaning
10. When using an automated welding-torch cleaning system:
Changing the fibre optic cable
11. When changing the fibre optic cable the laser welding head must be positioned hori-
102
Observe the values specified in these operating instructions for the Crossjet and ex-
tractor.
Switch on the Crossjet and extractor at least 5 seconds before the start of welding.
Only switch off the Crossjet and extractor when the laser welding head is in the smoke-
free zone.
To prevent dust entering the focussing lens, the laser welding head must be posi-
tioned vertically when changing the protective glass (welding torch pointing towards
the ground).
Before changing the protective glass:
–
Switch on the Crossjet and extractor
–
Clean the welding head with compressed air
IMPORTANT! Do not blow compressed air directly against the protective glass.
–
Switch off the Crossjet
–
Change the protective glass
IMPORTANT! The extractor must be switched on and the Crossjet switched off
when changing the protective glass.
Only keep the protective glass drawer open for as long as is absolutely necessary.
If welding fumes come into contact with the protective glass, the protective glass must
be replaced.
The dirty protective glass can be re-used:
–
Pre-clean the protective glass with a cloth
–
Thoroughly clean the protective glass using a cotton bud soaked in methanol
–
Store the protective glass and keep it free of dust
A protective glass that comes into contact with welding spatter must be replaced im-
mediately.
Dispose of the protective glass contaminated with welding spatter.
At the start of production, check the protective glass regularly to determine an appli-
cation-specific replacement interval.
switch off the Crossjet and extractor during the cleaning process.
zontally, so that dust cannot fall into the optics from above.
