• Off-Bike Charging: Each battery can be charged individually if removed from the Pedelec.
• Terminal Lid: When riding the bike in single battery configuration, make sure to cover
the exposed terminal with the supplied socket terminal lid to protect the circuits.

3.F.4. Inserting and Removing Battery
Always switch off the battery and the Pedelec system when inserting the
battery into the holder or removing it from the holder.
In order for the battery to be inserted, the key must be inserted into the lock and the lock must be open.
To insert the standard battery, place it onto the contacts on the lower holder on the Pedelec (the
battery can be tilted towards the frame by up to 7°). Tilt it into the upper holder as far as possible.
Always check that the battery pack is locked in place. To do this, pull
on the battery pack (after the key has been removed).
Check that the battery is secure. Always secure the battery by closing the lock –
otherwise the lock may open and the battery may fall out of the holder.
Always remove the key from the lock after closing it. This prevents both the key from falling out and
the battery from being removed by unauthorized third parties when the Pedelec is not in use.
To remove the standard battery, switch it off and open the lock using the key. Tilt
the battery out of the upper holder and pull it out of the lower holder.
3.F.5. Battery Storage
The service life of the battery can be extended if it is looked after well
and especially if it is stored at the correct temperature.
As it ages, however, the capacity of the battery will diminish, even with good care.
A significantly reduced operating period after charging indicates that the battery
pack is worn out and must be replaced. You can replace it yourself by purchasing
a genuine Bosch PowerPack from an authorized Bosch Dealer.
Recharging Battery Before and During Storage
When you are not going to use the battery for an extended period (longer than three months), store it at a
state of charge of around 30 % to 60 % (when two to three of the LEDs on the battery charge indicator are lit).
Check the state of charge after six months. If only one of the LEDs on the battery
charge indicator is lit, charge the battery back up to around 30 % to 60 %.
NOTE: If the battery is stored with no charge for an extended period of time, it may become
damaged despite the low self-discharge and the battery capacity could be significantly reduced.
