EDIT THE RECORDED MD [MD deck]
This deck is capable of editing a recorded MD. You can modify an MD as
you wish.
Note:
- If "Protected" or "TRK Protect" appears, you cannot edit the MD.
- "Complete!" appears after each edit. The edit information will be saved
after recording is stopped, when the q EJECT button is pressed, if the
power is switched off or if the MD is stopped for 5 minutes. If "TOC"
appears, the edit information has not been saved yet.
Moving the tracks (MOVE)
You can change the order of previously recorded material. The new order
is saved to the disc and it does not change even when the power is off.
Example: To move selection D of track 4 to the track 2 position (Fig. 22)
1. Press the PAUSE button while playing the track you want to move.
The PLAY indicator blinks and the deck is set to the pause mode.
2. Press the EDIT button repeatedly to display "Move ?".

- Each time the button is pressed, the display changes as follows.
Erase ? v Divide ? v Combine? v Move ? v Name ?

3. Press the ENTER button.

4. Turn the MULTI JOG control to select track 2.
- The number button(s) on the remote control can also be used.
5. Press the ENTER button. The selection is moved to the track 2
position. The deck is set to the pause mode at the beginning of the
moved track.
- If you don't want to move the track, press the STOP button before
performing step 5 above.
Dividing the track (DIVIDE)
You can divide a track at any point within the track.
Example: To divide track 2 into two tracks at the desired location (Fig. 23)
1. Press the PAUSE button while playing track 2.
2. Press the EDIT button to display "Divide ?".

3. Press the ENTER button. "2Tr OK?" appears.
4. Turn the MULTI JOG control to select the point where you want to
divide the track. The display changes as follows.
. . . v –02 v –01 v +00 v +01 v +02 v . . .
(or in the reverse sequence)
Then "2Tr OK?" appears.
5. Press the ENTER button. The track is divided into two tracks. Play
starts from the beginning of the last track which was separated.
- If the track cannot be divided, "Sorry" appears.

Combining tracks (COMBINE)
You can combine many tracks into one.
Example: To combine track 2 with track 3 (Fig. 24)
1. Press the PAUSE button while playing track 3.
2. Press the EDIT button to display "Combine?".

3. Press the ENTER button. "2Tr+ 3TrOK?" appears.
4. Press the ENTER button. The two tracks are combined into one. Play
starts from the beginning of combined track.
Note:
You cannot combine tracks under the conditions shown below:
- A track recorded in stereo mode with a track recorded in monaural
mode.
- A digitally recorded track with an analog recorded track.
Erasing tracks individually (ERASE)
You can erase the track as desired.
Example: To erase the selection C (Fig. 25)
1. Press the PAUSE button while playing track 3.
2. Press the EDIT button to display "Erase ?".

- If you want to cancel, press the STOP button.
3. Press the ENTER button. The track is erased. The deck is set to the
pause mode at the beginning of next track.
Erasing all tracks on the MD (ALL ERASE)
You can erase all tracks on the MD at once.
1. Load the MD to be erased.
2. Press the EDIT button to display "All Erase?".

- Each time the button is pressed, the display changes as follows:
All Erase? v Name Erase? v Disc Name? v (Released)
3. Press the ENTER button. "Really" appears.
- If you want to cancel, press the STOP button.
4. Press the ENTER button. All tracks and track names are erased.
"Blank Disc" appears.
