INFORMATION
When heating the socket shells with the hot air gun, make sure to heat them evenly (from the
inside and outside of the socket). Excessive heating causes glossy areas on the matt surface of
the socket shells.

7.3.2 Cutting off and gluing in the fabric adhesive strips

12
Complete the following steps to attach the fabric adhesive strips:
1) Clean the recesses on the inside of the socket shells with isopropanol.
2) Position the fabric adhesive strips in the corresponding recesses and make a mark 2 mm
away from the cut edge (see fig. 12).
3) Trim the fabric adhesive strips at the markings, rounding the edges.
4) Pull the fabric adhesive strips off the backing and glue them into the recesses (see fig. 13).
INFORMATION: Note the alignment of the fabric adhesive strips: The hairs on the fab
ric adhesive strips point down, which makes donning easier and improves the hold
while wearing.

7.3.3 Gluing in rubber nubs

14
Rubber nubs are glued in to reduce sliding movements between the medial and lateral socket
shells that result in wear and tear.
Complete the following steps to glue in the rubber nubs:
1) Clean the recesses on the inside of the medial socket shell with isopropanol.
2) Pull the rubber nubs off the backing material and glue them into the recesses (see fig. 14).
INFORMATION: In particular, the rubber nubs should be glued in where a cable is
expected to come out.
