In a drawing, characteristic features can be
emphasised, less important detail can be
omitted, and features in various planes of the
object can be depicted. The drawing tube can
be used in either incident or transmitted-light
specimens in daylight and in a comfortable
sitting position. The user sees the object and
the drawing simultaneously. The scale of the
drawing can be chosen at will with the
assistance of the magnification changer and
the additionai objectives.
The mirror is protected from damage by a
quartzcoating.
- Fit the drawing tube between the optics
carrier and the binocuiar tube so that the
• mirror points to the left or to the right.
- Move the lever (72) to the white spot so
that the drawing surface is imaged in the
binocuiar.
- Move the objective (74) of the drawing tube
so that both the drawing surface and the
pencil are seen in focus. The focusing
ränge isfrom 100 mm to infinity.
- Place the object in position, switch on the
illumination, and bring the image into
focus.
- It is recommended that the drawing sur-
face be brightened by means of a separate
table lamp, e.g. with a Wild 25 W mains
lamp oncast base.
- The red screw (73) releases the mirror
which can be removed and turned in order
to mirror in the images of documents or
objects in various positions. Comparisons
can thus easily be made.
If individually-made scales or grids are mir-
rored in and photograpned with the object,
measurements of number, length and area
can be carried out.
The hand-focused stage carrier (see section
10.4) facilitates focusing, because the object
can be brought into focus without changing
the chosen image scale.
16.4 180° dual stereo a t t a c h m e n t
The 180° dual stereo attachment enables
two people to work simultaneously at a
WILD M7A Stereomicroscope.
- Slacken the clamping screw (96) and ro-
tate the optics carrier by 90°.
Retighten the clamping screw.
- Secure the dual stereo attachment with
the clamping screw (45) in the same man-
ner as a binoculartube.
- Mount the binocuiar tubes for the two ob-
servers.
The dual stereo attachment has an incor-
porated double-iris diaphragm and a beam
spiitter (50%/50%) with two lateral outlets
for photography, filming, TV or dual Observa-
tion (see section 16.6).
