1.1 Preface

These instructions for use provide the user as well as his or
her attendants with all the required knowledge on the de-
sign, function, operation and maintenance of the A200 pow-
er wheelchair from Otto Bock Mobility Solutions GmbH. The
instructions contain all the information that is needed to use
the power wheelchair safely, to determine the possible cau-
ses of a malfunction and to help eliminate it.

Knowledge of these instructions for use is absolutely neces-
sary for ensuring that the power wheelchair is used safely.
Therefore, the user and his or her attendants must read the
instructions for use thoroughly, especially the section on
"Safety", before using the power wheelchair. This will ensu-
re the complete utilisation of all the features of the power
wheelchair.
1.2 Intended Use
The Power Wheelchair is designed solely for people who
are unable to walk or who have mobility problems in order to
provide them with individual mobility in indoor areas.
The power wheelchair may only be combined with the op-
tions mentioned in these instructions for use. Ottobock as-
sumes no liability for combinations with medical products
and/or accessories from other manufacturers outside of the
modular system. An option for the power wheelchair is to
have it controlled by an attendant with the use of an atten-
dant control.
Any other use is considered improper use. The manufactu-
rer is not liable for any personal injury or damage to property
resulting from improper use; in such cases, the user has
sole liability.
