Problem
Espresso does not run
through.
Espresso runs out too
quickly.
Espresso runs out
around the edge of

The Simple Solution to the Problem
Ensure the machine is plugged in and the POWER button is
pressed to on.
Fill fresh cold water into the water tank.
Turn the selector switch to espresso position.
Use a ground coffee suitable for espresso machines; see:

Do not tamp the ground coffee too tight in the filter; see:
›Useful Tips‹.
Clean the filter. You can clear the pores of the filter with
the cleaning tool; see ›Care and Cleaning‹.
Use a ground coffee suitable for espresso machines; see:

Measure with the measurring spoon a sufficient amount of
coffee powder; see ›Preparing the Espresso‹.
Tamp the ground espresso more firmly in the filter; see:
›Useful Tips‹.
Insert the portafilter correctly. Refer to ›Inserting The Por-
tafilter‹
Clean any excess ground espresso from the rim of the por-
tafilter to ensure a proper fit into the grouphead.
Measure with the measurring spoon a sufficient amount of
coffee powder; see ›Preparing the Espresso‹.
Tamp the ground espresso less firmly in the filter; see:
›Useful Tips‹.
Ensure you use the small filter for 1 cup of espresso and
the larger filter for 2 cups of espresso.
Fill fresh cold water into the water tank.
Ensure you use a suitable espresso grind. Ground coffee is
marked accordingly.
Descale the appliance and unclog the pores of the filter with
the needle of the cleaning tool.
