Safety
Signs, symbols and instructions placed on this device must never be covered or removed and must remain
present and clearly legible throughout the entire lifetime of the device. Immediately replace or repair illegi-
ble or damaged signs, symbols and instructions. Contact your local dealer for instructions.
Any adverse event in relation to the device must be reported to your local dealer and the national compe-
tent authority in a timely manner. The local dealer will forward information to manufacturer.
Caregiver
• Read the user manual carefully before use
and keep it for future reference. Incorrect use
of this device may cause serious injury to the
user.
• Settings and adjustments to the device or
accessories are only to be made by persons
who have read the user guide and who have
been given the necessary instructions by a
device advisor.
• This device contains small parts which could
present a choking hazard if removed from
their intended placing.
• Ensure that moving parts do not squeeze or
trap body parts when adjusting them
• Ensure that body parts are not trapped
in openings for mounting of supports/
accessories.
• Always use the correct lifting techniques and
aids for this purpose.
• Never leave the user unattended in this
device. Ensure permanent supervision by a
caregiver.
• Always use the necessary supports and
fastenings to ensure that the user is safe and
stable in the device.
• Repair/replacements must only be made
using new original R82 spare parts and
fittings and carried out in accordance with the
guidelines and service intervals prescribed by
the supplier.
• If there is any doubt as to the continued safe
use of your R82 device or if any parts should
fail, stop using the device immediately and
contact your local dealer as soon as possible.
• Transportation of the device whilst the user
is in it is not allowed. It is allowed to use the
device with the user safely strapped in it for
transfers over short distances. Do not cross
any obstacles during transfer.
• Ensure that the user is supported, when
performing any adjustment on the device or
accessories.
Environment
• Observe the surface temperature on the
device, before placing a user in it. This goes
especially for users with insensitive skin
as they cannot feel the heat. If the surface
temperature is above 41°C then allow the
device to cool before use.
• Use this device on a level surface without any
obstacles.

User
• If the user is close to the maximum user mass
and/or has a lot of involuntary movements,
e.g. rocking, a larger size with a higher
maximum user mass or a different R82 device
should be considered.
Device
• Carry out all positional adjustments on the
device and accessories and ensure that
all knobs, screws and buckles are securely
fastened before use. Keep all tools out of the
reach of children.
• Ensure that all adjustable parts are securely
fastened before use.
• Activate the brakes before placing the user
into the device.
• Ensure that the stability of the device is
maintained before placing the user in it.
• Do not expose the gas spring to pressure or
high temperatures. DO NOT puncture.
• Do not expose the piston rod to scratches etc.
It is important to use a cloth or the like, if tools
are used to adjust the gas spring.
• This device is tested for resistance to ignition
at level non-ignition in accordance with
applicable standards.
• The device might lose its flame resistant
characteristics if using other than original R82
cushioning.
• This device is not to be occupied in a motor
vehicle. The user must be positioned in a
vehicle seat and the device must be stored in
a luggage compartment.
• The user must not occupy the device while it
is being transported into or out of a vehicle
by a lift.
• Unoccupied device is suitable for land and air
transport.
