8 Service and Maintenance
The Instagrid LINK MAX and installed components are maintenance-free Only checking and cleaning
activities need to be performed
81 Checks
• Prior to every use, check the housing, the handles and the connections for external damage Do not
use the device if it is damaged
• Ensure that no debris or dirt has accumulated in the input or output sockets
• At every system start, the (IMD) carries out a self-test that takes approx 12 seconds If everything is
ok, the status LED glows in green The user can carry out an additional manual test by keeping the
"Test" button depressed for 2 seconds
82 Cleaning
1. Preparatory work
• Disconnect all input and output cables
• Close the caps on the input and output sockets
2. Removing any loose dust and debris
• Use a soft brush or a broom to remove loose dust and debris from the surface of the device
• If thick dust has settled on the device, you can use a compressed air fan at a low setting of less than
2068 bar (20684 kPa / 30 psi) to blow off loose dust Hold the air nozzle at least 15 - 20 cm (6-8
in) away from the device to prevent damaging sensitive components or pushing dust further into
the device
3. Cleaning concrete residues
• Use a plastic scraper or spatula to carefully scrape off hardened concrete or cement residues
• Stubbornly adhering concrete can be softened up by briefly placing a slightly moistened cloth onto
the affected position This will loosen the concrete without allowing any excess moisture to penetrate
• Moisten a cloth with water (not soaked, just moistened) to clean the surface Wipe off exposed posi-
tions to remove dust and concrete residues
• Use a microfiber cloth because it has better soaking properties and will not leave behind any fibres
4. Drying the device
• Allow the Instagrid LINK MAX to completely dry after cleaning before reconnecting it to a power
source If moisture has penetrated into the device it is important to allow it to dry naturally to avoid
internal short circuits or damage
5. Checking the gaskets and connections
• After cleaning, check the gaskets of the device to ensure they are in good shape and free of any dam-
age This is crucial for retaining the IP rating and as protection against dust and moisture
• Check the socket and connections for signs of dust or moisture accumulations Clean these areas
with a soft cloth and ensure that they are completely dry before reconnecting the device
