17.1 Purpose of the Document
This document describes the M2Smart
®
The M2Smart
HMI10 Wired is intended for use on machines that have, for example, a safety controller
(safety PLC) and require a wired safety system for an emergency stop and for an enabling function.
®
The M2Smart
HMI10 Wired is supplied via the connected machine cable. The signals of the emergency
stop and enabling switch are each connected to the machine cable in two channels and can be connected to
a safety PLC.
The signals are completely independent from the electronics of the M2Smart
connected to the machine cable. Accordingly, the signals can be used regardless of the state of the

HMI10 Wired.
This document contains all relevant requirements from MRL 2006/42/EC.
17.2 Target Group for the Documentation
This description is intended for users and for trained technical personnel who are familiar with the applicable
national and international standards and regulations.
For installation and commissioning of the component, it is absolutely necessary to observe the following
instructions and explanations.
The qualified personnel must ensure that the application or use of the products described here complies with
all safety requirements, including all applicable laws, regulations, provisions and standards.
