29 Instructions for Cleaning and Care

To clean the M2Smart HMI10 Wired, set it down on a surface (such as a table). This way, you can hold it
securely and the mobile HMI device cannot slip out of your hands during the cleaning process.
Observe the following instructions for cleaning the touchscreen:
Since the display reacts to touch and the active program can thus be affected or disturbed, always switch off

the M2Smart HMI10 Wired or press and hold the On/Off button for two seconds to put the device in
Suspend mode.

Never clean the touchscreen of the M2Smart HMI10 Wired with solvents, scouring agents or sponges.
Doing so may damage the touch surface!
Do not put a lot of pressure on the display.

When the M2Smart HMI10 is delivered, a transport film has been applied to the display.
This film can also be used when working with the display if desired.
®
An M2Smart screen protection film for the 10.1-inch display is also available as an accessory.
Do not use any corrosive chemicals, cleaning solutions or strong cleaning agents to clean the screen,
housing or cable.
Window for Camera and Camera Lighting:
In case of abnormalities when taking pictures, switch the mobile HMI device off and clean the camera pane
with a soft, dry cloth. The pane is very transparent and barely visible to the naked eye. Do not put a lot of
pressure on the glass.
Keyboard/Keys:
To clean the keyboard/keys, always switch the mobile HMI devices off since the keyboard/keys react to
being touched and the active program can therefore be compromised or disturbed. Do not put a lot of
pressure on the keyboard/keys.
