4 Functional description
'EcoUp' metering pumps are diaphragm metering pumps powered by an electric motor
for transporting clean, non-abrasive dosing media.
The step motor technology used allows both the suction stroke duration and the metering
stroke duration to be adjusted separately.
This results in a variety of benefits such as a large setting range, virtually continuous and
low-pulsation metering, and even the option to respond to high viscosity or challenging
intake conditions.
The delivery rate can be regulated by a trimming potentiometer. A reduction in quantity
means an extension in the metering stroke duration. The duration of the suction stroke
remains unchanged. By selecting another metering mode, the suction stroke duration can
be adapted to higher viscosities or to difficult intake conditions.
To control the pump, you can choose between 'manual' (pump runs at the set dosing
speed) or 'pulse' (pump makes one complete stroke per incoming pulse).
The pump also has an enable input, a level input with level warning and empty signal, a
stroke signal and an alarm output.
The pumps consist of three main assemblies:
n Housing with driver unit
Pump head

n Control unit.
The selected construction makes it very easy to change between the control units of the
'EcoPro' , 'EcoUp' and 'EcoAdd' The control units can also be rotated variably on the
housing.
Together with the supplied mounting plate, the pump can be used for both stand mounting
and wall mounting without tools.
CAUTION!
The use of a suction pipe with an empty signal provision and dirt trap from our
accessory programme is highly recommended to protect the metering system.
The empty signal system causes the pump to cut off if the medium in the
container drops below a certain level.
