Using the KVM s3 Client Appliance Management Panel
Click Close to exit the Upgrade Firmware window.
To upgrade KVM-IA firmware individually:
Click the Settings tab in the AMP.
Select the KVM-IAs sub-category under Versions in the left column in the AMP.
Click the ID drop-down list and choose a KVM-IA for which you wish to view
firmware information. The IDs displayed in the drop-down list are a combination of
the EID and either the server name or appliance name, depending on what is
attached to the KVM-IA. If the KVM-IA is not attached to anything, the drop-down
list will display None. Once selected, the firmware information appears in the
Information box.
Compare the current information to the Firmware Available field to see the firmware
upgrade available for the KVM-IA. (You can load firmware even if the current and
available versions are the same. In some cases, you can downgrade the KVM-IA to
an older, compatible version.)
Click the Load Firmware button.
The firmware upgrade begins. During the upgrade, a progress message is
displayed below the Firmware Available box and the Load Firmware button will dim.
When the upgrade is finished, a message appears indicating that the upgrade was
successful.
Repeat steps 2-6 for each individual KVM-IA you wish to upgrade.
When finished, click OK.
5.3 Migrating appliances to the on-board web
interface
After you have upgraded the firmware of a KVM s2-0411and KVM s3-1621 appliances
to a version that supports the on-board web interface, the appliance will be available in
the Migration Wizard. Complete the Migration Wizard to be able to launch Viewer
sessions and manage switches directly from the on-board web interface.
Once you migrate a KVM s2-0411 and KVM s3-1621 appliances, you will not

be able to use the KVM s3 Client AMP. Use the on-board web interface
instead.
To migrate KVM s2-0411 and KVM s3-1621 appliances:
Click the Tools tab in the AMP. The Tools dialog box appears.
Click the Migration Wizard button.
Click Next.
