Click Save. The name you have supplied is updated in both the appliances and
local client database.
6.2.8 Viewing and configuring tiered switch connections
The Tiered Switches window lets you view the tiered switches in your system. Clicking
on a switch name displays a window that allows you to change the Name or Number of
Channels.
To configure a tiered switch connection:
Click the Configure tab in the on-board web interface, then click the Tiered
Switches sub-category in the left column.
Click the name of the switch you want to configure. The Modify Tiered Switch win-
dow opens.
Type the new name for the switch.
Type the number of channels, between 4-24, for the switch.
When you have finished configuring the switches, click Save to save the new set-
tings.

Click Cancel to exit without saving.
6.2.9 Viewing the KVM-IAs and IQ modules
The Server - KVM-IAs category lets you view the KVM-IAs and IQ modules in your
system, their port, and Electronic ID number (EID) as well as their type and connection
device.
You can also view the KVM-IA status. A green circle indicates that the KVM-IA is online.
A yellow circle indicates the KVM-IA is being upgraded and a red X indicates that the
KVM-IA is offline. To clear offline KVM-IAs click Clear Offline KVM-IAs and click OK
when prompted. The Clear Offline KVM-IAs button is only available for Appliance
Administrators.
It is not possible to clear Offline KVM-IAs or Avocent IQ modules that are

attached to a tiered analog KVM s3-1621 appliance.
This operation will clear all offline KVM-IAs on the KVM s2-0411 and KVM s3-
i
1621 appliances, including those associated with any powered down Servers.
User access rights will also be updated to remove the Servers associated with
i
the cleared offline KVM-IAs.
The KVM-IA Language drop-down menu allows you to set language and keyboard
parameters for all the Sun/USB KVM-IAs of KVM s2-0411 or KVM s3-1621 appliances.
The KVM-IA Language drop-down menu is only available for Appliance Administrators.
