Adding an appliance

Before you can access an appliance through the software, you must add it to the
software database. This can be done either manually or using the Discover feature and
using either an IPv4 or IPv6 IP address. After an appliance is added, it is visible in the
Unit list.
3.2.1

Adding an appliance with an assigned IP address

Complete one of the following steps:
• Select File - New - Appliance from the Explorer menu.
-or-
• Click the New Appliance button.
The New Appliance Wizard opens. Click Next.

Select the type of appliance you are adding. Click Next.
Click Yes to indicate that the appliance has an assigned IP address, then click
Next.
Type the IP address and click Next.
The software searches for the appliance and all the powered KVM-IAs and target
device names you associated with it in OSCAR, if any. To search for unpowered
KVM-IAs, you can access the resync feature in the Devices category of the AMP
and select the Include Offline KVM-IA checkbox.
