OPERATION OF HEATING SYSTEMS WITH TWO HEAT SOURCES
The PROMATIC D10, D20 enables full automatic operation of heating systems with two
heat sources, for example with solid and liquid fuel boiler. Systems can operate with or
without a heat accumulator. The hydraulic connection of the two heat sources can be par-
allel or successive. The successive connection uses only one heat source at the time,
while the parallel connection uses both heat sources simultaneously.

LEGEND:
A - liquid fuel boiler
B - solid fuel boiler or heat accumulator
PT - switchover temperature
MT - minimum needed temperature of the heat source
Switchover from liquid to solid fuel boiler or to heat accumulator
The heat source A is switched off, when the heat source B temperature exceeds the
switchover temperature PT (point 1). When the heat source B gets closer to heat source
A temperature, then the switchover valve turns to the heat source B (point 2).
Switchover temperature PT is the highest temperature of listed below:
- minimum heat source B temperature, increased for 10 K
- calculated stand-pipe temperature MC,
- calculated temperature of stand-pipes of other controllers ,
- d. h. w. temperature measured with sensor BF1, increased for 10 K.
The upper limit of switchover temperature is 60 °C
