INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Batteries are already installed when the product is delivered.
When installing Digital SmartHandle 3062 (Active and Hybrid), ensure that there are no sources of (low-
frequency) interference in the surrounding area.
SmartHandles Active/Hybrid should be installed at least 0.5 m from one another while SmartRelays Active
or activation units should be 1.5 m from one another.
Smart Handle must be fitted, so that it is flush with the door. You must install the product as specified to
ensure that it is structurally stable and will have a long service life.
You must not strike parts of SmartHandle during installation.
The two inlays in the cover are locked into position with a clip mechanism. These may only be removed
using the SimonsVoss installation tool.
Programme SmartHandle before installing. SmartHandles cannot be activated with a transponder (Active/
Hybrid) or SmartCard/SmartTag (Hybrid) before initial programming.
SmartHandle may be di cult to fit into mortise locks with a retaining nut. You must not alter the retaining
nut in any way, using a file, for example; otherwise, the handle's guide piece will no longer fit accurately.
Ensure you do not damage the edges or deform the shape of the handle fastener piece in any way. Once
fitted, the handle must not be loose when in its horizontal position.
Since inlays can no longer be placed over most handles after installation due to their design, we
recommend placing the inlay over the handle first before you install it.
INSTALLING SMART HANDLE
1. Optional: Remove any handles, escutcheons, ttings and other door furniture already tted to the door.
2. SmartHandle is partly assembled when delivered; consult „Disassembly" and follow Steps 7-9 if you wish
to disassemble.
3. The inlay cannot be tted on some handles, such as offset handles, when they are already installed. Push
the inlay onto the outer handle with the logo facing outwards in such cases. You can do this with most
handles.
4. Push the inside tting spindle through the retainer slot in the door's mortise lock, so that the tting is ush
with the door. Ensure that you do not squash the 3-pole cable when doing so.
5. Position the inside tting in such a way that it is parallel to the door.
6. Mark the drill holes required on the door through the corresponding holes in the inside tting.
Remove inside tting from the door.
7.
8. Drill the 2 holes with a diameter of 8 mm through the door.
9. Insert outer handle horizontally into the outer tting, placing it in the direction that you require, depending
on whether it is a DIN left-hand or right-hand door.
10. Place handle fastener piece into position (see Diagrams 2 and 3)
11. Hold the outside handle and use the spanner to rotate the fastener piece about 75° to the right until it ts
into position (Diagrams 4 and 5). If you do not t it correctly, the handle may come loose again.
12. The inside tting is mounted onto the inner surface of the door. Push the inside tting spindle through the
retainer slot in the mortise lock and push the inside tting onto the door until it is about 1 cm away.
13. Push the inside tting's 3-pole cable through the locking cylinder opening in the mortise lock.
14. Push the inside tting until it is ush with the door.
15. The outer tting is mounted from the outer side of the door.
16. Insert the two spacing bolts into the outer tting. The top spacing bolt is already fastened into position in
SmartHandle Hybrid.
17. Push the outer tting retainer slot onto the spindle while pushing the two spacing bolts through the drill
holes in the door at the same time. In doing so, ensure that the cable from the inside tting does not get
caught.
