18. Connect the 3-pole cable from the inside tting with the 3-pole cable from the outer tting. This cable can
only be inserted in one direction. Do not pull on the cables while doing so; just carefully secure the plug-in
connection into position.
19. The 2-pole cable from the outer tting can hang freely, but must not get caught when the outer cover is
tted. Do not pull on the cable.
20. Press outer and inside ttings together, so that they both are ush against the door.
21. Insert the supplied screws through the inside tting drill holes from inside the door and fasten to the
spacer bolts on the outer tting by hand (about 5-7 Nm).
22. Check that the outer handle can turn easily; if it does not, there may be a problem with the lock or the
handle may have been tted incorrectly. In case of doubt, disassemble components and start again from
Step 9.
23. The inlay cannot be tted on some handles, such as offset handles, when they are already installed. Push
the inlay onto the inside handle with the logo facing outwards in such cases. You can do this with most
handles.
24. Push inside handle onto the fastening ange until it will go no further.
25. Fasten the inside handle hex screw rmly by hand.
26. Push cover over the inside handle.
27. Carefully push the inlay through the opening in the inside cover.
28. Push the cover onto the inside tting, so that it is ush with the door. The cover is not symmetrical; look
carefully at the marking to ensure correct positioning.
29. Click the inlay carefully into the cover.
30. Push cover over the outer handle.
31. Carefully push the inlay through the opening in the outer cover.
32. Push the cover onto the outer tting, so that it is ush with the door. The cover is not symmetrical; look
carefully at the marking to ensure correct positioning. (diagram 6)
33. Click the inlay carefully into the cover.
INSTALLING SMART HANDLE WP
1. Optional: Remove any handles, escutcheons, ttings and other door furniture tted to the door.
2. SmartHandle is partly assembled when delivered; consult „Conventional fastening disassembly" and
follow Steps 7-9 if you wish to disassemble.
3. The inlay cannot be tted on some handles, such as offset handles, when they are already installed. Push
the inlay onto the outer handle with the logo facing outwards in such cases. You can do this with most
handles.
4. Optional: In a lock with a 8.5 mm or 10 mm spindle, push the corresponding sleeve (8 mm --> 8.5 mm or
8 mm --> 10 mm) through the retainer opening in the mortise lock.
5. Push the inside tting spindle through the retainer slot in the door's mortise lock, so that the tting is ush
with the door.
6. Position the inside tting in such a way that it is parallel to the door.
Mark the drill holes required through the corresponding holes in the inside tting.

8. Remove inside tting from the door.
9. Drill the 2 holes with a diameter of 8 mm through the door.
10. Insert outer handle horizontally into the outer tting, placing it in the direction that you require, depending
on whether it is a DIN left-hand or right-hand door.
11. Place handle fastener piece into position (see Diagrams 2 and 3)
12. Hold the outside handle and use the spanner to rotate the fastener piece about 75° to the right until it ts
into position (Diagrams 4 and 5). If you do not t it correctly, the handle may come loose again.
13. The inside tting is mounted onto the inner surface of the door. Push the inside tting spindle through the
retainer slot in the mortise lock and push the inside tting onto the door until it is ush with the door.
14. Insert the two spacing bolts into the outer tting. The top spacing bolt is already fastened into position in
SmartHandle Hybrid.
15. Push the cable for the outer tting through the pro le cylinder/Swiss Round/British Oval opening in the
mortise lock and ensure that it doesn't get caught or buckled.
16. Push the outer tting retainer slot onto the spindle while pushing the two spacing bolts through the drill
holes. In doing so, ensure that the inside tting cable does not get caught or buckled.
17. Connect the 3-pole cable from the outer tting with the 3-pole cable from the inside tting. This cable can
only be inserted in one direction. Do not pull on the cables while doing so; just carefully secure the plug-in
connection into position.
18. The 2-pole cable from the inside tting can hang freely, but must not get caught or buckled when
the outer cover is tted. Do not pull on the cable. The second cable is optionally used to connect the
