The mowing deck enables the air passage to the mowing blades
to be opened or closed by means of openings and air chokes on
the mowing deck cover. The air chokes are controlled manually by
being pressed down and slid to one of three available positions.
When mowing low and dense turf (the mowing deck is in the
ƒ
bottom position), it is appropriate to open the air chokes to
maximum.
When mowing a high turf (the mowing deck is in the top
ƒ
position), it is appropriate to close the air chokes for a better
suction effect of the blades.
TRAVELLING SPEED AND MOWING GRASS
To achieve the best possible mowing results, it is necessary to adapt travel speed to the condition of the mowed
surface:
It generally applies that the wetter, higher and more dense the grass is, the lower the travelling speed that
ƒ
should be used. When the mower is travelling at high speed or when under large load, the rotation speed of
the blades is reduced, the quality of the cut is worse and the ejection chute may become clogged. Always
set the maximum engine speed.
If the grass is very high, it is necessary to mow it twice or even several times. On the first run (1), mow with
ƒ
the mowing deck set to the highest position, on the second run (2) set the mowing deck to the required
height. If possible, travel crosswise to the first run.
Select the method of travel based on the form of the terrain and personal experience.

Low, dry vegetation
Travelling without the mowing deck engaged
In the event that the ejection chute is being clogged by grass, reduce the travel speed. It may be too high
with respect to the condition of the lawn. Furthermore, adjust the sliding part of the full grass catcher sensor
( 5.8 FULL GRASS CATCHER INDICATION).
If this does not resolve the problem, the probable cause are blunt or worn out mowing blades. Sharpen
or replace the mowing blades (
/ MOWING BLADES / SHARPENING OF MOWING BLADES.
After every use, clean the mowing deck, the ejection chute and the mowing blades so that no grass
remains accumulate.
MOWING GRASS WHILE REVERSING
When you start travelling backwards with the mower at a speed greater than 0.3 m/s (approx. 1 km/h), the
mowing deck disengages automatically and the blades stop mowing grass.
In the event of intentional and controlled reversing with the mowing deck engaged, it is possible to disengage
this safety function by pressing the R switch located on the main panel.
