Sharpening
First sharpen with a grinder and then with a file. Sharpen the mowing blade evenly. If necessary, the blade
ƒ
may be cooled using water during the sharpening process.
Never sharpen the blades directly on the mowing deck.
Inspection of the break pins
Inspect the condition of the break pins (fig. 25, position 4), which serve as protection of the mowing deck
ƒ
against damage. If the break pins are damaged, replace them immediately. Spare pins are supplied together
with the mower.
Inspection of balance
Pay increased attention to levelling and balancing the blades. The vibration of blades that are not levelled and
balanced may damage the engine or the mowing deck.
Insert a screwdriver into the centring hole and set the blade into a horizontal
ƒ
position.
If the blade remains in this position, it is balanced. In the event that one end of
ƒ
the blade is over balanced, then grind this side down and recheck the balance
of the blade.
ATTENTION: When balancing by grinding, do not shorten the length of the
blade! The permitted static imbalance may not be greater than 2 g.
Remounting the blades
When remounting the blades, ensure that the bend of the paddle of the blades points upwards towards the
ƒ
mowing deck cover. Do not interchange the left and right blades. On the right rotor, the bolt has a left-hand
thread, and on the left rotor the bolt has a right-hand thread.
The blades rotate counter to each other towards the centre of the ejection chute (see arrow in fig. 25).
Therefore, the blade must point in this direction.
The blades must be set perpendicular to each other (90°).
Mount the blade using the grooved washer, spring washer and bolt that you first screw in by hand and then
ƒ
turn the bolt by 1/2 a rotation, i.e. by 180°. Tighten the bolts using a torque wrench. Tightening torque
2.4 TECHNICAL PARAMETERS.
ATTENTION! In the event that the specified torque is exceeded, there is a risk of stripping the bolt thread.

REPLACING BLADES

When the blades impact a solid obstacle, immediately stop the engine and inspect the blades. They may have
been damaged or the break pins may have been torn.
In the same way, if due to frequent use the blades are damaged, they cannot be balanced or sharpened properly,
it is necessary to replace them.
When removing old blades, proceed according to
ƒ
BLADES.
Before mounting new blades, always check their balance and the condition of the break pins as described
ƒ
in
SHARPENING THE BLADE/CHECKING BALANCE.
Always only use blades recommended by the manufacturer or supplier of the riding mower. The use
of blades and/or fastening parts that are not recommended may result in improper mowing results,
damage to the mower and in the event that they come off during operation also injury to people.
