SHUTDOWN/DISPOSAL

7. Shutdown/disposal
• All work must be carried out with the
g reatest care.
• Proper protective clothing must be worn.
• When carrying out work in basins or containers,
the local protection measures must be observed
in all cases. A second person must be present for
safety reasons.
• Any public facilities connected must be closed
off and provided with a sign.
• If the switching system is in a separate room,
it must have a sign "System off! Work is being
performed on the system".
• Only hoisting gear that is in a technically perfect
condition, and load-carrying equipment that has
been officially approved and checked, may be
used for lowering and raising the system.
RISK of fatal injury due to malfunctions!
Load-carrying and lifting equipment must be
in a perfect technical condition. Work may
only commence if the auxiliary hoisting gear
has been checked and found to be in perfect
working order. If it is not inspected, fatal
injuries may result.
7.1. Temporary shutdown for maintenance work on
the solids separation tank or waste water pump
For this type of shutdown, the waste water
pump station remains operational and works in
emergency mode. This allows maintenance to be
carried out on one of the two solids separation
tanks or a particular pump.
1. Switch the system over to "emergency mode"
at the switching system.
2.
Switch the power off to the particular waste
water pump and make sure it cannot be switched
on accidentally.
3.
Close the shut-off valve for the particular solids
separation tank:
• Undo the clamping screw (as far as it will go)
by turning it counterclockwise.
• Use the lever to push the sliding cylinder down
as far as it will go. It is easier to do this by mov-
ing the lever back and forth around the axis of
the sliding cylinder.
• Lubricate the sliding cylinder with Vaseline or
an acid-free grease.
• Tighten the clamping screw for the shut-off
device by turning it clockwise.
• The intake to the particular solids separation
tank is closed.
4.
Empty the collector tank manually with the active
waste water pump.
Operating the pump station continuously in
"emergency mode" is not permitted. As soon
as the work is complete, the pump station
must be switched back to normal mode!
7.2. Final shutdown for maintenance work on the
intake or collector tank and for storage
1. Switch off the pump station and secure against
being switched on again without permission.
2.
Close the intake using a slider.
Installation and operating instructions Wilo-EMUport FTS MG..., MS..., FG..., FS...
3.
Empty the collector tank and the solids separa-
tion tanks completely using the pumps.
4.
When all the tanks are empty, close the discharge
pipe with a slider.
5.
Switch the power off to all the electrical compo-
nents and make sure they cannot be switched on
accidentally.
6.
Disassembly of the pump station can now begin.
You can get exact details about this in the assem-
bly plan from the disposal company responsible
on site or from the manufacturer.
BEWARE of poisonous substances!
Waste water pump stations must be decon-
taminated before any other work is carried
out! There is otherwise a risk of fatal injury!
Wear the necessary protective clothing for
this work.
BEWARE of burns!
The pump housings can heat up to above
40 °C. There is a danger of burns! After
switching it off, let the whole pump station
cool down to ambient temperature.
7.2.1. Removal
You can get exact details on removal from the
assembly plan or from your disposal company on
site. If you have any questions please contact the
manufacturer.

7.2.2. Return delivery/storage

Return delivery
For shipping, the parts must be packed and sealed
in sufficiently large, non-tearing plastic sacks to
prevent leakages. Shipping must be performed by
carriers who have been briefed accordingly.
Please also refer to the "Transport and storage"
section.
Storage
• Clean the pump station thoroughly and decon-
taminate.
• Store it in a clean, dry place protected from frost.
• Place it down vertically onto a firm foundation
and secure it against falling.
• Seal all open connections tight with suitable
material (such as foil).
• Support the power cables at the cable lead-in to
prevent permanent deformation and protect the
ends from moisture.
• Protect the pump station from direct sunshine
to prevent the elastomer parts from becoming
brittle.
Please also refer to the "Transport and storage"
section.

7.3. Starting up again

Clean the pump station of dust and deposits
before starting up again. Then carry out all the
maintenance tasks as described in the "Mainte-
nance" section.
