Alignment where possible should be carried out in places
protected from strong sunlight, or the immediate area should
be shaded in order to allow easy viewing of the laser line on
the units.
In case of extreme misalignment, the reflected laser line can
be captured with use of a white sheet of paper placed next to
the laser transmitter.

Correcting misalignment (using laser and reflector)

1. Correct vertical angularity by shimming moveable machine
using PERMABLOC
®
Correction of this angular misalignment can be observed on the
reflector.
2. Correct horizontal angularity by adjusting the moveable
machine laterally. This can be viewed on the laser transmitter
during adjustment.
3. Correct offset by adjusting the moveable machine axially. This
correction can be observed on the reflector unit.
By following the three steps above, alignment of the pulley drive
should be quickly effected. However, as any one alignment cor-
rection is liable to affect the other alignment condition, repeat the
above procedure if necessary until the system is aligned.
