Programming Custom Settings for
the Long Black
You can program 6 custom settings for
each possible cup size of the Long Black
to suit your cup size and strength prefe-
rences.
1. Fill the portafilter using the auto grind,
dose & tamp function.
2. Insert the portafilter into the group
head.
3. Position your cup so the portafil-
ter spouts and hot water outlet are
directed inside the cup.
4. Press the MENU button. Rotate the
SELECT dial, until 'LONG BLACK
ADJUST' is flashing on the LCD dis-
play. Then press the SELECT dial.
5. Rotate the SELECT dial to the parame-
ter set you'd like to program ("Set 1"
to "Set 6"). Parameter sets that have
already been programmed will dis-
play a cup icon.

6. Press the SELECT dial to enter the cur-
rently shown parameter set. The LCD
display will show a moving cup icon
and espresso will extract from the por-
tafilter spouts.
7. When the required amount of coffee
has been extracted, press the SELECT
dial to stop the flow of espresso and
start the flow of hot water.
8. When the required amount of water
has poured, press the SELECT dial to
stop the flow of hot water. The LCD
display will show a cup icon and the
Espresso Machine will beep to con-
firm that your customized Long Black
settings have been programmed. The
Espresso Machine returns to standby
mode.

9. Rotate the LONG BLACK dial. Your
programmed custom Long Black set-
ting will appear after the pre-set small,
medium and large settings. See: ›Pre-
paring a Long Black‹.
10. Press the LONG BLACK dial and your
programmed Long Black setting will
dispense.
