Always ensure that young children do not
play with any packaging material of the
appliance!
Do not leave young children without super-
vision with the appliance, any part of it, or
the packaging in reach.

very hot. Additionally, the appliance is
designed to produce hot water and hot
steam under high pressure. Always ensure
to assemble the appliance completely and
correctly before connecting it to the power
supply. Always switch OFF (press POWER
button), unplug and wait until the appliance
cooled down, before cleaning or moving
the appliance.
Always keep the working space clean
and dry. Do not pour or spill any liquids
on or under the appliance. Do not place
clothes or similar materials on or under
the appliance during operation. If any
liquid has been spilled on the appliance,
immediately switch OFF and unplug the
appliance. Thereafter clean the appliance
according to the instructions in chapter
›Care and Cleaning‹.
Note:
To enter standby mode, the steam lever
must be switched OFF (horizontal posi-
tion).
BEFORE FIRST USE
The appliance is weighting approx. 16
kg. It is good advice to unpack it not
alone.
1. Remove the Accessories Box.

2. Place the shipping box on a table
with the appliance in an upright posi-
tion. Then pull the appliance out of the
box.
3. Remove and discard all promotional
labels, stickers, and packaging mate-
rials attached to your Espresso Machi-
ne, but do not remove the model label

appliance. For shipping, the drip tray,
storage tray (behind the drip tray) and
the water tank are installed correctly.
You remove the drip tray by simply
pulling it out. Always ensure that young
children do not play with any parts or
accessories or the packaging!
4. Ensure you have found all parts and
accessories before discarding the
packaging. See: ›Knowing Your
»Design Espresso Advanced Professi-
onal« ‹.
5. Remove the water tank located at
the back of the Espresso Machine by
pulling down the water tank handle.
6. Remove the plastic bags containing
the water filter and filter holder from
the water tank.
CAUTION:
