d) Switching off the wing model and transmitter

Always proceed as follows:
• Land the wing model on a suitable surface.
• Move the joystick for the pitch function (see Figure 29, no. 5) to the lowest position (motor off position). The propel-
lers should stop.
• Use the on/off switch to switch off the quadrocopter. To do this, slide the switch from the "ON" position to the "OFF"
position.
• Now switch off the transmitter by pressing and holding down the on/off switch (see Figure 29, no. 7) for approx. 1
second until the transmitter emits two short beeps. The LED indicator light on the transmitter (see also Figure 29,
no. 3) will go out.
The transmitter has an automatic power-off, which switches the transmitter into idle mode after approx. 2
minutes to save the batteries.
If the LED indicator on the transmitter starts flashing during operation, replace the inserted batteries with
fresh ones.
In this case, terminate operation immediately and insert a set of new batteries into the transmitter.

e) Adjusting the tailplane

The tailplane can be manually adjusted downwards (1) or upwards (2).
• Adjust in direction (1): Lower ascending performance and higher flight speed
• Adjust in direction (2): Higher ascending performance and lower flight speed
For the first flights, set the tailplane to the end position in direction (1).
This ensures that the ascending performance is not too much and the model always has sufficient flight
speed. During further test flights, you can further optimise the adjustment.
Always adjust in small increments and test the flight behaviour before you change the adjustment again,
where necessary.
